The path to inner peace
Is traveling the path to inner peace difficult?
A young man asks, “Can someone like me who worry constantly over things really achieve inner peace?”
The answer is “yes” if you are honest about achieving peace of mind and if you set the necessary time to practice, you will be able to reduce the wandering thoughts of your mind and start enjoying peace of mind more than you are accustomed to.
Most of us want to experience serenity and easy life free from anxiety, worry, stress, and negative thoughts, but unfortunately, most people tend to look for inner peace externally through external activities like buying an expensive car, buying new clothes, getting a better paying job, taking a vacation.
These are excellent activities to bring you temporary inner peace, but if you really want to become a master at experiencing serenity and calmness in daily life, then you need to start to look within you.
Find who you are, what your purpose in life is, and your passion, then you will be on your way to experiencing inner peace.
The path to inner peace
Below are a few tips that have helped me experience more peace of mind in my life and I’m sure they will help you as well:
1. Express gratitude
When I started my journey to increase serenity in my life, I made it a habit to spend around 20 minutes a day to express my gratitude for the blessings I had, currently have, and will have in my life.
When I started expressing gratitude and really feel the emotion of what I’m saying, an inner feeling filled with peace started to settle in my heart and my mind started to become more restful.
When we humans are really grateful for what we have, we stop worrying for what might be missing in our lives.
2. Take a walk
Despite the fact that many of us walk to keep ourselves fit and physically healthy, walking is a major key to help you relax and experience inner peace.
Walking helps to restore calmness in your life. It gives you a chance to clear your mind, relax, and get some fresh air.
3. Let go of the inner barriers
Usually since childhood to our adult life, we have created many barriers and obstacles that stand in our way of achieving inner peace. As we keep growing, we tend to loose our authentic self and in the process we also loose our inner peace.
Your goal should be to work through the barriers that you have put on yourself, so you can start feeling calm and secure. It is through this process you will be able to manage your mood swings, fears, lack of self esteem, and your false self.
Remember the path to inner peace takes time to master just like any other thing in life, so invest in yourself by understanding yourself more and you will be astonished at the positive improvements you start seeing your daily life.

When I step out of the door in the morning, aah…everything else fades away. You are so right about the calming, relaxing effect of walking.
It’s my morning meditation.
Love this post.
Hi Dia,
Great practical steps. I especially have come to realize the value in walking and exercising to relieve stress and worry. Not only do these steps help you overcome worry. They also help you to focus on the things you WANT to focus on. When you exercise, you release endorphins in your brain and it lifts your energy and entire state of mind. It transforms the focus. Great word for today, my friend!

Hi Dia,
Another excellent post my friend. I love the point you make about walking. You know, I see my own walking just like this. Rather than just an exercise, it is an opportunity for me to create some inner peace and mental balance again. I find it quite therapeutic in this sense.
