Hi Dia. My confidence seems to increase a lot just by getting out there and doing things. I was not at all confident when I was younger, but experience and getting more at ease with life in general has helped a lot.
Hi Jean, absaolutly getting our there, practicing, and working on our fears improve our confidence. Many people aren’t confident when they are young, yet when the grow older and experience new things, their confidence improves a lot.
Hi Dia. Yes it takes daily practice to be the change we are seeking. Deliberately repeating a single thought in mind – repetition, repetition and more repetition – is the quickest way to align your mind. Experiencing self-confidence requires being the ruler of our mental kingdom. Then, getting out and acting as though it is so makes our new ideals real.
Hi Rob,
Absaloutly repetition is one of the best ways to program our mind to become confident. The more we practice, the easier it gets
Hey Dia!
I agree with Rob it does take daily practice to be the change we are seeking. I have found that the inward approach to finding that confidence works best for me. From being ablet to trust that inner voice, it generally leads to greater things for me. It takes that inner journey to find that trust in that inner guidance. Nice post.
Hi Baker,
Trusting the inner voice for sure improves one’s confidence. After all, if we don’t feel confident on the inside, then we won’t be or feel confident. That is why it is crucial to program our subconscious mind with the things that we want to achieve.
Hi Dia,
I like the idea of developing your mind to work in more positive ways, while it may be difficult we have complete control over our own thoughts and they can change our confidence levels in an instant!
Kate
Hi Kate,
Developing our mind is the key to achieving confidence. Yea, it is difficult to have complete control over our thoughts, but the more we practice and work on enhancing our thoughts, the more it gets easier and our subconscious mind gets programmed.
Dia, you hit the nail on the head when you were talking about fear. Getting over the fear improves confidence exponentially almost right away.
Hi Joshua,
That is for sure Joshua, fear is one of the most thing that people face and hence become less confident. If we want to improve confidence, then it is very crucial that we get rid of fear by working on our thoughts, beliefs, and emotions.
Dia: Great post and such an important topic. We really need to have self confidence and realize that we have every reason to believe in ourselves. I think sometimes it is easy to fall into the trap of overlooking the importance of this and then we end up allowing limiting beliefs to work against us. I thought what you mentioned about working every day was important because usually increasing and maintaining self confidence is a process that we must commit to everyday. Have a great weekend.
Thanks Sibyl, working daily on increasing confidence is very crucial, so those thoughts and feelings become ingrained in us.
Dia,
I agree that the first thing needed in order to improve self-confidence to understand what is limiting us in the first place. By understanding why we lack self-confidence, whether it be fear, self-limiting thoughts, or overly high expectations, we can start to see some of the irrationally behind our beliefs. We can then start to change our thinking and beliefs so they match up with a more confident self-assessment.
Hi Joe,
Absolutly, we have to analyze our limiting beliefs and know why we feel lack of confidence. Changing our thoughts is very crucial, otherwise nothing will work.
hi dia,
how are you?
forgive my absence on your blog, i was working on the magazine and it’s all done & dusted.
thanks for contributing to this months edition and i hope i can squeeze one more article from you please for next month lol!!!
back to your article:
thanks for sharing this. i believe point 1)opening your mind to learning new things, creates a level of exposure to various circumstance & sometimes risks which aid in boosting or improving our confidence.
point 3) self assertion: i believe it makes us grounded gives us the ability to manage or calm our fears which results in boosting our confidence.
enjoy the rest of the day.
Thanks Ayo, it was my pleasure to contribute to the magazine my friend
Learning new things and working on our fears help a lot. If we practiice going out of our comfort zone, then the more we feel confident.
Hi Dia,
Like Jean and Rob, I also think confidence happens to us by actually doing things until we get it right. We are learning from these mistakes and reapplying the knowledge, next time confidence is improved in that subject better and better slowly.
Hi Preeti, That is for sure, the more we do things, the more we get used to them, hence our self confidence increases
Positive thinking is a great confidence tool.
Most of us are more confident with things when we think, “I can do this!” If you’re a shy person that has to walk into a roomful of strangers, it will feel funny at first but if you keep thinking “It’s ok, I can do this!” somehow you’ll survive. After that, things will only get easier.
Thanks Steve, positive thinking for sure helps improve our confidence. The more we think in a positive way, the more our confidence increases.
Hi Dia,
To improve self confidence, you have to realize that you are not alone in your feelings of uncertainty. A good deal of low self confidence is directly related to irrational beliefs we have that others around us are somehow immortal and do not suffer from the same uncertainties we do. Begin with the understanding that we all experience lapses in our self confidence and that nobody else is 100% self assured.
Thanks Ben! Beliefs play a major role in building confidence. If someone believes he is not confident and he is shy, then this is how he will behave.
Marko at Calm Growth made a good point in an article about confidence. Exercise, being fit can help increase your level of confidence. I know this is especially true for elderly people.
Dia,
Great post on confidence. Many people do not realize how importance confidence is in life. If you are too paralyzed by fear of failure to even try you simply can never succeed. I enjoyed your post, it helped me to reaffirm the importance of confidence. We all have moments when we lack confidence and your tips to improve confidence can help even those that are fully confident in their weak moments, thanks.
Steve
