I want to change my life
I want to change my life now! How can I change my life? My life is horrible, can you help me?
John has been having a rough time lately since he lost his job. His distress and negative thinking have affected his relationship with his wife and children, so he feels that he is lost and wants to change his life to lead a better and more prosperous life. Sounds familiar?
There are millions of people like John across the globe that feel life is horrible and miserable. They want to lead a better life, but their negative thinking and challenges of life makes it hard for them to do so.
I want to change my life
If you want to learn how to change your life, then follow the below guide:
Give up self pity
I can sit with you and we can cry and moan all we want and say “life is tough, life is unfair, boss is a jerk, my partner doesn’t understand…,” but will that change anything? Nope, it won’t! Complaining and blaming never solve anything. What they do is the contrary; keep you where you are feeling like a victim, so what should you do instead?
- Take responsibility for your thoughts and life
A long time ago, I was one of those people who wanted to change my life, but kept on complaining and blaming circumstances and people for my life. A day came where I said; “enough is enough” I’m going to stop blaming people and circumstances for what happens to me in my life. If I want to make a lasting change, then I have to take responsibility for my thoughts, behaviors, and actions. Only then, positive changes started happening to me.
Know what you want
You can’t change anything about your life unless you know exactly what you want to achieve. Without knowing what you want, you won’t be able to get there, at least not consciously. It is like an airplane that wants to change its direction, but does not know where to go or where to land.
As I said in my book “the ultimate guide to achieve your goals” that having a vision and knowing what you want is necessary if you want to achieve your goals in life.
I know by now you are asking “How do I know what I want out of life? I’m not passionate at anything.” To answer this question, you have to ask yourself some questions, so here is the exact exercise that I did to help me find out what my purpose is and what I want in my life:
Imagine you have everything in life and that supply is unlimited (it is unlimited by the way) and that you have one billion dollar, perfect relationships, your dream business, and excellent health. Now, ask yourself, “If I had all those things, what would I do in my life every day? How would I like my life to be? How would I spend my time? Where would I go? How will I serve others and myself?”
Take a few days to ponder these questions. Asking yourself these questions could be the best thing you do in your life as it might change your life for better for ever. This exercise has helped me find what I’m passionate about and I’m sure it will help you as well.
Take action
Now that you have made a decision to change your life for better and you know what you are passionate about, it is time to take your first step. As yourself the following two questions:
What is the first step that I can take right now to change my life?
Do I have all the necessary tools to start?
You don’t have to do all the work in one day or one week, but you need to take daily steps that will help you change your life and accomplish what you want.
If you want to improve your health, start exercising and eat healthier food. If you want to improve your relationship, start nurturing your relationship and start to express your love. If you want to make more money, apply for a new job or start your own business. The key is to take action and do something today, not tomorrow.
Taking responsibility, knowing what you want, and taking action are very necessary steps to take if you are serious about changing your life for better. Don’t wait for tomorrow to start, now is the time.

This all I can say, you cannot change a situation most of the time to what brings you comfort, and if this the case always bare in mind it’s you who has to change the course of your thinking about a situation. Then that brings you inner joy. Think positive things in every way and anytime and it brings a feeling of lightness in you. Bring negative thoughts in you and your day seems to be doomed and you walk with a heavy feet.

Dia,
One of the best things we can do to change our lives is to take action. If you don’t like the way things are going have the guts to do something different. Don’t be the person who continually does the same thing over and over again and expect different results.

Hi Dia,
Great points you made here.
It’s hard to make a change to your life when you still feel bad for yourself. I think a lot of that has to do with confidence.
Even if you have a rough life and it feels like you’ve been handed a deck of bad cards, you have to be willing to leave the attitude behind so you can make your future the one you want.
Excellent work once again Dia!

Hello Dia,
I think everybody wants to change their lives as we know that people are insatiable. We crave for more things to come into our lives. Your points in changing life were amazing and I agree with you here.

This is a powerful question to ask ourselves. I am glad that you brought it up.

It’s always one of the hardest things to watch someone you love ruin their life, and not take any responsibility for anything. It sure helps us to grow to see things like that. But then again, it’s never lost, right? If they’re still alive and kicking, they still have that hope to change and take action!
What are some things we can do to help others take action?

You ask a really good question because you are right, there are so many people out there. I think we need to help these people recognize what it is that is making them unhappy and when they are ready, we can guide, support and help them make the necessary changes. It is so much easier to figure it out from the outside looking in, maybe we can help them by being that person who is outside, looking in, and wants to help.

I love it. I think the biggest challenge is people actually admitting to themselves that they WANT to change their life. I am around some people who will keep making excuses for the things that make them miserable, when really it comes down to needing to change something about the way they are living. So, I love what you wrote and agree with it all, however, kind of thinking that step number one needs to be that recognition part.
This is my first time at your blog and I love the content. I will definitely be returning to read more about your thoughts on life and how to make it better. Thank you!

Well said, Dia. Accountability, clarity and right action are a winning formula, indeed. We can find an infinite source of goodness in enriching thoughts, feelings and actions… and this source is available at every point of our existence.

Hi, Dia,
this post came at the right time, as I am thinking for some time of really how to change certain things in my life…such as moving to another city, settling down in a home of my own.
Well, I think what is stopping me for now to make any serious action about my plans is that my plans are not clear enough…and that is the first failure. If I do not know for sure what I want to achieve, then where is my goal, right?
I definitely have to organize my thoughts before I can take action.

After 10 hours a day, doing the same thing for several years, who wouldn’t want to change their lives? You know many actually do it? Maybe 1 in 500. the main reason is fear and outside pressure. And i can understand them since i was once in the same position. I was afraid i wouldn’t be able to pay rent if thing went bad. My family and friends kept telling me it’s safer to stay put. It wasn’t easy, but i managed to break through eventually.

Giving up self-pity will sure do the job. Forget about the drama and think of better things to do. Continue living.

The key of changing ones life is ASKING GOD to really HELP you, Even how you try everything if you don’t ask for divine intervention, everything seems to be futile. for a moment you feel you are a change man, the next you are in you old ways again..Second, change your ATTITUDE. you cannot change the people around you, or the events that comes along the way. but with the right attitude you can change the old you. This is not an overnight workout, this isa day to day progress. So don’t be discourage if sometimes you fail, Welcome imperfection and don’t base anything wioth emotions. Just keep on going.
