Kindness is the foundation of every successful relationship. You are as a human being naturally kind and loving person. However, with all the negative programming we get from early childhood, we start moving away from our authentic self.
Jack has been married to Mary for over 7 years now. Whenever her behavior doesn’t match Jack’s expectations, Jack becomes irritated and angry. As a result, Mary starts amending her behavior to meet Jack’s expectations, so he stops getting angry and so she makes him happy.
Can you identify with this very common story?
In other words, Mary was constantly afraid to do what she wants and loves to do, so her partner Jack doesn’t get mad, angry, and upset.
Their relationship which was once beautiful and fun; now it is full of control and approval seeking.
How to spice up your relationship
If you are in a situation similar to the above story, then I have good news for you. You can spice up your relationship and return the spark by practicing kindness to each other.
Whenever you feel that your partner’s behavior doesn’t suit you, begin to focus on being kind not only to your partner, but also to yourself. You absolutely can’t be kind to your partner if you are not kind to yourself at the same time.
At first, it might be difficult to change the behavior, but within a short time and constant practice, it will become a second habit. Are you ready to start being more kind to yourself and your partner so you can spice up your relationship?

I love that tip, Dia. A selfless act of kindness cuts right through the defenses of the ego. The one way to invite real love into our life is to stop inviting the artificial love of the ego. In the dimension of love, egotism is an enemy who pretends to be a friend.

That relationship sounds like the story of my life Dia. Most of my relationships were all based on what he enjoyed doing and not really what I enjoyed doing. I usually went along with what he wanted because I hated to listen to the griping. But overall, they ended because I couldn’t keep it up and I wasn’t happy not being able to do what I wanted.
Thank goodness not only those relationships are in my past but that way of thinking as well. I’ve always loved that saying, kill them with kindness. It does work beautifully.
You are right again, practice makes perfect. I love this advice Dia!
