How to motivate yourself today

7 ways to motivate yourself starting today

Life fluctuates!  One day you might feel exited, relaxed, and full of energy while other days you might feel stressed and exhausted.  When this happens, you need to find a way to relax yourself, increase your energy, and correct your mentality to help support you to fulfill your aspirations.  The question is; are you ready to take charge of your inner mentality?

To help you with this process, you need to develop a daily ritual to help you get going.  Remember, you have the ability to change your thoughts to support your dreams and ambitions.  The question is; are you willing to do the hard work?

Daily rituals to motivating yourself

1.  Take a 5 minute to clear your mind

When you get up first in the morning, take a few minutes and focus on breathing.  Then immediately shift your focus to feeling appreciation for all of the things you currently enjoy your life.

Setting your mind up to positivity is essential and it boosts your energy.

2.  Exercise

Taking 20 minutes a day to move your body does wonder and it boosts your energy and improves your stamina.  Go for a walk, join a gym or stretch and you will feel rejuvenated.

3.  Nourish your mind

Just like you pick the healthiest food to eat and feed your body, your mind needs to be treated the same way.  How do you take care of your mind’s health?  Do you nourish it on a daily basis?

One of the best ways to nourish your mind is by daily listening to motivational speakers or reading inspirational articles.  Many folks make the mistake of reading an article or two and think they will be motivated from now on.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way.

Remember, just like a cell phone needs to be charged daily, your mind needs to be charged on a daily basis as well.  For more info, check (Power of self-control: How to build self-control habits and take charge of your life)

4.  Look in the mirror and smile

Before you begin your day, take a minute to look in the mirror and smile.  Ask yourself: What am I up to today?  Then answer:  Today is a new day and I’m going to get a step closer to realizing my goals.

5.  Focus on your super-objective

Create a super-objective and focus on it.  Behave as if you already accomplished it.  You can start right now to act as if you have reached your desire.  What this does is it helps to raise your energy and enhances your current mood.

6.  Get rid of your bad mental habits

Begin to identify your negative self talk and slowly begin to replace any negative idea to something more positive.  You do this by not deciding to “stop thinking negatively” as you will always encounter negative thoughts from time to time.

What you can do, however, is to replace your negative mental habits with positive ones slowly and continuously.  For instance, if you tend to think that smoking is fun and relaxing, you can start to change your view by saying that cigarettes are dangerous and you are only connecting relaxation with cigarettes.  (For more info, check: Power of habit: How to build good habits for ever).

7.  Ask empowering questions

Before you leave your house, ask a few empowering questions such as:

What can I do today to help bring me closer to my dreams and desires?

What negative belief do I need to work on eliminating today?

What am I thankful for?

Asking uplifting questions help direct your mind in the right direction and increase your energy.  Remember, the questions need to stir the emotions in you so you feel the positive emotions.
