To learn how to increase your energy level in your day, follow the guide below:

1. Reduce stress

It could be impossible to eliminate all kinds of stress in life, however, you can reduce stress by taking long walks, exercising, practicing yoga, practicing meditation and visualization. These are excellent ways to reduce stress and help you stay energized.

2. Eating small meals

Try eating 4-6 small meals a day instead of the traditional three big meals. Breaking your meals into small meals will regulate blood sugar level and gives your body energy.

3. Drink lots of water

It is no secret that drinking about eight glasses of water a day is beneficial for your body. Dehydration increases pressure on the heart muscle, so make sure you drink enough water every day.

4. Eat breakfast

Learn to eat breakfast daily. Many people think that when they don’t eat breakfast, they are saving some time, but what they don’t realize is that they will not be able to perform later on in the day as their energy will weaken and they become more tired.

5. Eat food rich in energy

Start to eat food that is rich in energy such as whole grains, vegetables, nuts, and fruits. These kinds of food help you to avoid using all of your body’s energy, so you can be more productive in your day.

6. Breathe

Most people think that they breathe correctly, but unfortunately, this is not true. Many people don’t know how to breathe correctly due to stress, poor posture, wrong way of sitting among other reasons. Diaphragmatic breathing is a simple way you can increase your energy and improve your stamina. Start to take a deep breath several times a day to renew the supply of oxygen in your body, so you get more energy.

7. Get enough sleep

Make sure you get enough sleep, so your body can rest and relax. Getting enough sleep is one of the best ways to help you stay energetic throughout your day.

Always remember what Tony Robbins said, “The higher your energy level, the more efficient your body. The more efficient your body, the better you feel and the more you will use your talent to produce outstanding results.”

  1. I really believe in the small meals concept. Every morning, I eat a protein-based snack every hour. This habit leads to greater focus and energy that lasts throughout the day.

Thanks for the other great suggestions, too.

Great tips, Dia. So many people drag themselves through yet another day and never question why the feel bedraggled day in and day out. People turn to artificial stimulants that never get to the root of their low energy level. Sound, pragmatic change is sound spiritual practice.

    Hi Dia,
I appreciate this post. I’ve been a low energy person all my life and it is difficult to adjust myself to it. One positive thing I did for myself was to stop appologizing for it, accept it, and move on. It is really important to find ways to deal with low energy and all the tips you mention are wonderful and they do indeed work. I’m glad you wrote this, because it will help folks! Thanks!

      Hi Dandy,

I’m glad you liked the post my friend. Many people have low energy. The first thing is realization. Once the person realizes that he/she has low energy, then they can follow some steps that will double their energy.

  4. I always love your lists Dia, as they remind me of one or two things that I need to work on or do. I am happy to say though that as I’ve gotten older, I’ve really looked to implement most of these habits into my life….although I still have some work to do with the ‘eat smaller meals’ suggestion ;-)

  5. eating 4-6 meals is a good one. The keyword is small though. Eating 4-6 meals the size people are used to eating obviously is no good.

But by eating less but frequently energy is equalized and there is never that, “tired…must rest” feeling people can sometimes get after a meal.

    • Dia says:

      Hi Steve,

For sure my friend, the keyword is small. If we eat 4-6 meals that are huge, then this will not benefit anyone. Once people start eating 4-6 small meals, then this will help boost their energy level during their day.

    hello dia
    how are you?
    thanks for sharing these tips.
i loved them and if i may add please, ensure you take minimized breaks from your desk at work and off the screen for a few mins. be happy: that certainly works for me lol!!! avoid nagging or complaining too much about everything eg the weather, transport…. things that will trigger stress.
take care and enjoy the rest of the day

I’m always looking for more energy! It’s good to be reminded that sometimes it really is the simple things that can make a big difference. Of course this makes it sound like it is easy to implement your suggestions (but if it was that easy I guess we wouldn’t be having this discussion!)

I have to say I do all of the above (I know – makes me sound like teacher’s pet!) But the one I find most challenging is keeping stress at bay. I am a yoga, hypnotherapy, NLP blah blah blah junkie. So guess I just need to keep working at it!

Oh and I’m all for the laughing and the humour. They gotta come in here somewhere. xx

  8. Dia,

I like this topic as I am feel like I am on mission to find energy (natural way) in my life with everything that we do. Getting sleep is one of the most important aspect for me, whenever I sleep well, I tend to have a better day. Thanks.

    Great tips Dia,

I have had a lot of success using a few of these myself. Drinking water was a challenge for me but it has paid off big. Proper hydration is extremely important. Sleep helps too.
