How to become lucky?

How to become lucky?

What is luck?  Do you consider yourself lucky or unlucky? Do you know how to be lucky?

Some people think there are some people who are lucky by nature and that some are not lucky. If you are successful, have a good education, rich, and clever among other things, they consider you to be lucky. However, if things do not go your way or if you don’t have good fortune and wealth, they think you are not lucky.

Let me ask you, what is luck? What does it mean to be lucky? Luck is how you control what happens to you in your life and how you turn something to your advantage, this is what true luck is. Luck is based on the steps you take which you use to achieve success, therefore, you make your own luck.

Studies show that there are two kinds of luck; internal or true luck, which is the talent of the individual and external luck; which is beyond the individual’s control.

What some people call luck such as winning the lottery or inheriting a mansion is not luck as these things are beyond your control. True luck on the contrary depends on your actions and it is within your control.

If you have a purpose, plan, have faith, visualize, take action and persist, then you can achieve your goals as discussed in my book “the ultimate guide to achieve your goals” which many people think this is “luck.”

I have never believed in luck. Because, it is a kind of excuse. When you fail at something, people say that it’s bad luck but when you succeed, they also say that it’s good luck. No matter how hard one works, people will always say it’s “luck”. So, I believe in working hard and not using luck as an excuse. Things do get bad sometimes but I still think it’s not luck.

    • Dia says:

Yes are very right Ishan, not matter how hard we work, some people say that we just got lucky when the truth is we have put in so much time to achieve success.

  2. Jean Sarauer says:

I do believe we make our own luck. That said, once we step forward on a path, things show up to support us in ways that can feel very ‘lucky’ indeed!

    • Dia says:

Thanks Jean, yep we do make our luck and things do start showing up to support us after we take the first step because we will be thinking positively and hence we attract similar results.

  3. Hulbert Lee says:

Interesting post Dia. I don’t believe in luck, but I do believe in opportunity. The more we go out there with a positive attitude to achieve our goals, the more opportunity will come to us. This has happened to before and I’ve seen this happen to other people. Good job here man. Thanks for reminding us how to be “lucky”.

    • Dia says:

Exactly Hulbert, the more we go out there with a positive attitude, the more opportunity will come to us and the more we attract positive things. It is all about our thought, emotions, and our attitude.

  4. John Soares says:

I also think that we make our own luck through hard work, the right attitudes and methods, and paying attention to opportunity.

    • Dia says:

Hey John, having the right attitude definitely helps. You are right, through hard work, discipline, and taking action, among other things, we achieve success. This is the true luck. Have a nice day

    Hi Dia,
I love the idea of “learning to become lucky.” Indeed, we create our luck with our attitude and mood. All kinds of circumstances and opportunities open up when our inner world is aligned with our outer actions. Good one!

    • Dia says:

      Hi Rob,
Exactly my friend, once our inner world is aligned with outer actions, we get cirumstances that will help us get closer to our goals. Our attitude is very important for all that to happen. Thanks Rob

  6. Joshua Noerr says:

I have a friend who is always saying how unlucky he is. When we sat down to really look at it, we discovered that more than anything it was his opinion regarding certain situations, not necessarily the facts, that made him think this way.

In other words, the difference between lucky and unlucky for him was simply a perception change.

    Cheers on another great post.

    • Dia says:

Exactly Joshua, it is all about our perception and thoughts. The person’s thoughts, opinions, and beliefs determine if someone is “lucky” or not

  7. What some people call luck, I call happenstance. All things happen for a reason. If something good happened, then it was meant to be. If something bad happened, it also was meant to be. What you are going through in any particular time is what SHOULD be going on. Luck, as you put it, is a result of what you’ve done. Without “bad” luck we would no not “good” luck. In the end, it all balances out….

    • Dia says:

Thanks Ali, I think we create our own luck by the thoughts we think to ourselves and the actions we take.

  8. I think that we do create our own good luck too Dia. If we know what we want to achieve and are watchful, we see an opportunity each day. The chances we are given daily are easily overlooked, and sometimes the work involved makes an opportunity less appealing. We just received a break today. A friend’s house burnt down, unfortunately and they offered to let us have it if we want to do the demolition. This is going to be a huge project, but we are getting free materials to better our own property, mainly our horse barns. This will save us a ton of money, and we can auction whatever is leftover, while helping a friend at the same time.

    Regards,
    Sandra

    • Dia says:

Hi Sandra, yea once we are aware of what we want, opportunities come our way all the time, this is the true luck. Sorry that your friend’s house got burned, hopefull everything will be ok.

      • Thank you Dia, everyone is well. They are all excited about the new house they are purchasing. As soon as the old house is moved, they are ready to pour the foundation – moving forward!

  9. Eric says:

This made me think. My grandmother used to say that luck stood for Labor Under Controlled Knowledge lol. Either way, yes what you do and how you react determine it.

I find it sad how so many people in this world don’t have definite goals for their lives yet know exactly what they plan on doing over the weekend. Well, maybe we’ll get lucky and more people will realize what they’re after.

I guess I got lucky too as I found a lot of titles on your blog very interesting and will be checking those out.

    Thanks for the info! :)

    • Dia says:

Thanks Eric, having definite goals is one of the major keys that “lucky” people do to achieve what they want, unfortunately, not many people do it.

  10. Dia: I think what you said about luck being how we control what happens in our life was really important. We have so much more control over our lives than we think and a lot of times people attribute things to luck, that really are being impacted and controlled by their actions and decisions. To me, it is all about understanding we have control and then choosing to do what we should to shape our future and our own reality.

    • Dia says:

Thanks Sibyl, we are for sure the ones who control our life. Many people, unfortunately, think that they have no control and keep blaming life for their lack of luck.

  11. I get lucky all the time. No but seriously, luck is evident for those who were born rich. But otherwise, I believe you can create your own luck. You have to completely change your mindset though so you are positive on a regular basis.

    • Dia says:

Being positive on a regular basis and programming our mind daily with thoughts of success surely helps Brandon.
