How patient are you?

How to be patient in life?

Are you patient when it comes to achieving your goals?  Do you have patience?  How to be patient in life?

Jane is freshman at college taking five classes. She finds that her keyboarding class hard and challenging. Four weeks in the semester, she decided to withdraw from her keyboarding class as she is beginning to realize that she is not learning fast enough. She talked with her professor about the fact that she is not learning fast and quickly. Jane’s teacher started to make her see that with practice and patience, she will learn keyboarding and will be fine, but she didn‘t listen to her teacher‘s advice. Since Jane lost her patience, she withdrew from the keyboarding class.

Let me ask you, are you similar to Jane? Do you give up on your goals because you lose patience? How many people you know who went to college and didn’t graduate because they had no patience to study challenging subjects and materials? Ask yourself, are you a patient person? If not, why?

Some people open businesses, but give up too fast because they have no patience. Some start learning instruments such as piano, guitar, violin among other instruments, but because of their lack of patience, they stop and give up.  As I stated in my book “the ultimate guide to achieve your goals that you need to have patience if you want to become successful and achieve great goals in life.

If you have specific goal that you want to achieve, then you need to be patient and know that everything takes time. There was a man with his son standing in a long row in front of an elevator. The child asked his father, “How can we reach our destination quickly?” The father explained to his son that they have two choices, either wait in line , so they use the elevator or use the stairs and step by step, they will get to their destination. The father also explained to his son that by using “step by step” process and by having enough patience, they can achieve everything they want.

  1. Dia,

There really is power in patience as you say. On a long term goal, it benefits us to understand, that we will get the gratification we are after, and in an instant too. The instant we achieve your objective. :)

    Warm Regards,
    Sandra

    hi dia,
    how are you?
it is important we exercise patience inorder to avoid making irrational decisions or acting unruly.
take care of yourself and enjoy the rest of the day

    Hi Dia,

I have to admit, I am impatient – I want everything NOW!!
However as long as I know I am working towards things and have a plan of how to get there, I can control it to keep me motivated. I think giving up with impatience comes when targets are just unrealistic.
    Best wishes,
    Kate.

As I’ve gotten older I’ve become patient because I’ve seen there is no other way. I definitely wasn’t that way when I was younger though. I was an expert at starting things and then quickly quitting them when I didn’t get overnight results.

@Sandra, exactly when we have patience, it makes us stay focused on our long term goal and how happy we are going to feel once we get our goal. Thanks Sandra

@Ayo, this is so true my friend. Have a nice day too and take care. Thanks Ayo

@Kate, we all want to achieve our goals now, don’t we? :) As you said, once we make a plan, take action, and know how we will feel when we get our goals, we will be ok with patience. Thanks Kate

@Jean, I think most of us have no patience when we are young, but as we grow, we become more patient. Thanks Jean

    Hi Dia,

Thanks for sharing your tips and the patience reminder.

Reminding yourself to be patient is a powerful habit. This auto-suggestion promotes patience in your being.

Over time I’ve become more patient but still have my moments. Deep breathing, meditation and frequent breaks have helped me to override this tendency.

  10. For me I was thinking I can’t tell if I am really patience, depending on the situation, sometimes we experience too many obstacle that can get through our brains, for example when somebody teasing me, I can’t tell if I am insulted , maybe I should remove this bad attitude and to make my patience long enough.
