Achieving your goals quickly
Is achieving your goals something possible? How can you turn your dreams and goals into reality?
Achieving your goals is something you probably are so passionate about. Dreams of owning your own house, finding a partner to spend your life with, owning a business, having a fancy car, buying expensive clothes, traveling the world, among other things are dreams of millions of people and they probably your dreams as well.
Most of us have goals that we want to achieve to enhance our lives and become happier. Research shows that setting and working towards accomplishing our goals is a major reason that affects the happiness of many people.
As I mentioned in my book “the ultimate guide to achieve your goals” that you really can reach your goals and what you set your mind to, you just need to study and learn the principles of success. The principles of success include learning about:
- Concentration and focus
- Developing belief and faith
- Knowing what you want to achieve
- Taking inspired action
- Persistence
- Studying the mind
- Changing yourself internally first
- Meditation and visualization
Unfortunately, many people believe setting and achieving goals in life is nonsense because life is hard and we have to struggle.
How many people do you know that have big goals and work on them daily? How many people abide by the principles of success mentioned above? The chances are not many.
Achieving your goals
Achieving your goals in life shouldn’t be something difficult. On the contrary, it should be pleasurable and full of excitement. What you need to do is pay attention to your mentality and your thoughts.
Being aware of your self-talk and visualization will help you tremendously if you want to develop your mentality to become positive and expect success.
When you visualize your goals and focus on them regularly, you will be increasing the energy towards realizing your dreams and desires. If you don’t visualize or focus on your goals, the chances are you will not achieve them.
In my previous article “does visualization really work” I mentioned some of the goals that I have achieved in my life due to the aid of creative visualization. The good thing about visualization is that you can do it anytime you want. What you need to have is a serene and calm mind.
Start to incorporate the principles of success in your life and you will be for sure to achieve your goals quickly and whatever your heart desires.

Being aware of my own thoughts and feelings, do help me tremendously to achieve the goals associated with my current mental challenge. It is amazing what kind of nonsense you tell to yourself the whole day … I completely agree with you: becoming aware of this, is a kick start to success.

Hi Marc,
Exactly, once we start becoming aware of our self talk, we begin to notice the negative thoughts we hold in our mind and how it affects us negatively. Then we can begin to make some improvements in regards to those negative thoughts and learn to overcome our negative and limiting beliefs. Thanks for sharing

I liked your previous article “does visualization really work”. Just today I had to employ visualization to figure out what exactly I want to achieve as a participant in a group project. ..and yes, a serene and calm mind helps with this process!

Dia,
I believe visualization does work. When I see myself doing something (I mean close my eyes and really see it) then I’m more likely to achieve it. Thanks for the reminder.

Hi Alex,
Yep there is no doubt that visualization works my friend. When we see ourselves accomplishing what we want, then we begin to attract it into our lives. Thanks Alex

Hey Dia,
A lot of people seem to believe that they aren’t in control of their lives so they never try to move towards their dream, and if they do, as soon as they get a knock back they give up. This is why visualization and picturing your goal is so powerful. Thanks for the share.

Hi Andrew,
Visualization works beautifully in our lives, this is why it is a major principle of success. But we shouldn’t forget about the other principles as well.

Great advice, Dia!
Three points from your book jump out at me:
1. Taking inspired action: That is such a great piece of advice. Action is necessary. Without is, nothing happens. And even taking the wrong action at least gives us something to analyze and learn from. But so much more effective action is if it is inspired.
2. Persistence: It’s so easy to throw in the towel when the going gets tough. But everyone goes through those times. The difference between those who reach their goals and those who quit setting them is the persistence that drives successful people past the challenges and through the obstacles
3. Changing yourself internally first: This is just awesome! We do what we do because of who we are at the time of doing the thing. If we change and grow and learn and develop the person who goes and does, the things done will reflect the improved version of the person doing them!
Very nicely done, Dia!

Hi Ken,
Exactly, when we change ourselves internally first, then we can begin to attract success. Think of an orange, we only can get orange juice from the orange, not apple juice or any other kinds of juice because that is what is inside of an orange. The same goes for us humans. As within so without. Thanks Ken

Hi Dia,
Your article is right on! I’m a big believer in visualization. I’ve seen great results from it, but it’s definitely a skill to be mastered.
I like the principles of success you listed. One additional principle that I use is the principle of Desire. I like to say “Great things start with Great Desires!” Everything starts with desire, and when I set a goal, I start by creating a burning desire. When you desire something enough, you will get it!
You also mention action. It seems obvious, but one thing many people don’t realize is that it doesn’t have to start with some massive action. Just take immediate and consistent action, even if it’s small things. The small actions will build momentum, and will turn into large actions.
Look forward to reading more!
Take care,
Tony

Hi Tony,
Desire is a big one. I believe all great goals need to have a burning desire. Without this desire, most will give up as soon as they face an obstacle or a challenge. This is why focusing on the end result is a way to stay motivated to achieve our goals and desires. Thanks Tony

Hi Dia,
I do agree that “visualization your goals really works” Now if you spend 24/7 doing this and don’t act on them. No so much. We have to visualizae in our relax time. Sometimes when I do this I am just smiling and have faith. When this happen i know that I will walk the right path to get where I am meant to be.
Thanks Dia, for keeping me on that path.]

Hi Debbie,
Exactly, many people believe that visualization all it takes to achieve success. Visualization is a great tool to work through the barriers we have within us, but we have to be ready to act on inspired thoughts and ideas. Althought most of the work has to be done internally first, but external work like taking action is very necessary as well. Thanks Debbie

Another great post Dia and to follow it up from your visualization one which you know I just loved.
We all are in control of our thoughts. For those people who say I can’t do that or I’m stuck in this situation are just lying. You have to want to change bad enough and then take consistent action. That’s the only way anything will ever change.
Always such great advice when I stop by your place.

Hi Dia,
“Achieving” is pleasurable in itself. We all want to achieve at something whether it be big or small. Make it a habit and then you are really on a roll. I enjoy visualising whether with intent ( ie focussing on something I want) or without intent…..just seeing what my mind throws up in the ways of other possibilities…..(This could be a future posting?) Thank you for this.
be good to yourself

I just came out of a meeting and we were discussing some learnings we had over the last year. One of the big things that came from it was recognizing how valuable focus was on this year.
We had gone through several projects and had spread our small team even thinner than it was previously. Mid way through the year we realized we were killing ourselves and decided instead of working on all the projects at once and moving everything forward slowly, we could be much more effective if we picked a project and made that our focus.
We are now starting to see much more progress and growth because of that one concept.
Great post.

Focus is a great tool to help us achieve success. This is why athletes use visualization as well. Once we incorporate visualization in our lives, we begin to focus more one what we don’t want and this is a necessary step as we get what we think and feel the most. Thanks Bryce
Dia recently posted..Achieving your goals quickly
Sound advice Dia getting us to really consider our goals and how to stay on course. For me the bigger the goal and more challenging, the longer and more determined you will need to spend in bringing it to fruition. I’ve always believed it will take as long as it takes but what others believe is will be what decides whether they’ve got what it takes. A goal is either a level to reach or a dream to fantasise about – the difference is what we choose!

Hi Dia,
You made the formula of success very simple for us to follow with the success principles you have outlined.
Visualization is going to be the key to keep our focus laser sharp. Lately, I have slacked in this areas and I hope to bark up more in this respect. Achieving goals quickly can be done if only we allow ourselves to be led more intuitively as well.

A major aspect to achieving our goals is dealing with failure and staying motivated in my opinion. You mention some great tips to do so. By keeping a positive image of who we are and the goals we desire to reach is a helpful process to staying motivated and learning for failure. As long as we know what we can do better next time and learn from mistakes were in good shape.

Dia,
I would think that the secret to “achieving your goals quickly” would have to be breaking the goals into manageable chunks.
If you goal is to lose 50 Pounds for instance…it simply will not happen quickly. The ONLY way to achieve some goals is slow and steady.
BUT…you can break that down into losing 5 pounds every month, and it becomes easily manageable and you should see results fairly quickly.
SOmetimes it is about having the “right” goal
