3 Reasons Why You Should Celebrate Running Into Obstacles

3 Reasons Why You Should Celebrate Running Into Obstacles

Note:  This is a guest post by Ryan Biddulph from RBs Keys to Home Based Success.

Today I suggest you have an obstacle party.

Instead of fearing obstacles you should embrace them. Instead of being handcuffed by obstacles you should feel empowered.

Obstacles are stepping stones; their function is to move you higher. As the obstacles in your path increase it means the goal is getting closer.

Here’s why you should celebrate.

Increasing Resistance = Rapid Growth

When the comfort zone is your home you can’t possibly be growing. Facing increased resistance means you’re growing quickly.

Resistance is simply stuff you avoided to face before. When you move forward quickly you face more obstacles.

Celebrate! You’re growing more quickly than ever.

You Are Receiving Golden Opportunities

Obstacles are hidden opportunities. Each obstacle begs to propel you forward.

Don’t shy away from a golden opportunity. Focus on the lesson present.

I admit some obstacles can seem daunting. I once faced a lawsuit from a creditor and eventually went bankrupt. At first I was mortified. Then I stepped back and viewed it as an opportunity to grow from.

A fair number of millionaires and billionaires went through bankruptcy before hitting it big so I looked at it as a rite of passage. I also learned how to spend more freely on things that contributed to my definite major purpose.

Read that line again, it’s not a typo. Money released freely returns multiplied. I restricted the flow of money into my life because I didn’t give freely. I was stingy and the universe was stingy with me.

The Big You Is Winning Out Over The Little You

We each have a lower and higher self. The lower self is the limited self. The higher self is our true, divine nature.

Hitting obstacles means we have silenced much of the little self chatter. It means we are listening to the small, still voice called our intuition. Our intuition never leads us astray although at times it might not seem that way.

When the big you consistently wins out over the little you magical things begin to happen. Obstacles pop up but dissolve with greater ease. You receive optimal results with less physical effort.

It’s all because you trusted in your divine nature, and this act of faith is prospered. Any thing that appears to be put in your way was placed there to reveal you to You.

Your Turn

Have you encountered any significant obstacles recently? Did you celebrate the situation?

    Hi Ryan,

Thanks for sharing this post, very nice. I love what you said about giving money freely. Indeed my friend, when we give freely, we get what we gave away multiplied. This is why giving is a huge power that can change our lives for the better. In regards to celebrating obstacles, this is one of the best things we can do, so sadness doesn’t get to us. Otherwise, we would be focusing on the obstacles, not the solutions.

Hey Ryan – I like what you shared about Resistance (Increasing Resistance = Rapid Growth). I agree with this totally. I actually liken it to working out (lifting weights). Lifting the same weight over and over yields flat results. But increasing weight (upping the resistance) forces more stress the muscles, eventually leading to growth.
I try to celebrate my wins as much as possible. It’s a nice reminder that hard work pays off.
Thanks for the nice tips Ryan.
Dia – thanks for publishing this!

  4. Obstacles can be a way of the Universe testing our faith. When an obstacles occurs, we can either quit or find a solution. Somewhere in the process of finding a solution, we are inched even closer to our goal because of the experience, and faith, gained.

So, bring them on so I can improve as a person!

I’m with you Ryan – obstacles are personal calls to action in disguise. Most inventions and devices we benefit from today have only become reality due to overcoming the obstacles that came with their development. After all for man to land on the moon some 1000 new technological processed were required. An obstacle is a golden opportunity and we are the key if we accept the challenge.

  6. Dia, you got it, my friend. As scary as obstacles are, we don’t grow without challenges. As great as comfortable living is, we don’t progress as people. I know I’ve quoted Martin Luther King before, but my all-time favorite quote is, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

    Thanks for sharing, buddy!

    Ryan,

Great Job! I enjoyed reading this. It is funny because generally people like to take the path of least resistance. We tend to want to do to what comes easy. Who would voluntarily take a path full of challenges, chaos, and strife? People who are successful understand that resistance is key to growth.

Think about it in the form of exercise. In order to build strength and muscle mass you have to increase the amount of resistance against that muscle. The heavier the weight, the greater the resistance, the faster you gain. In life the same rules apply. If you want to get stronger increase the resistance. That’s what I got from your post.

    Outstanding job!

  8. Hi Frank,

Thanks! Great point: the heavier the weight, the greater the resistance, the faster you gain. The most overwhelming moments are the greatest opportunities for growth. The universe wants for you to sprint with it. Enjoy your weekend :) RB

  9. Hi Ryan and Dia! I also like to see obstacles as opportunities. For each obstacle we face there is a lesson to be learned. When we embrace the lesson, the obstacle is no longer a monster. It becomes our friend and we have a better capacity to brain storm an reach solutions.
Thanks guys for these wonderful insights. Loving blessings!

    hello dia/ryan
    how are you?
    @ dia:
thanks so much for the guest post on my blog. i found it very inspiring and refreshing.
    @ryan:
i agree with the statement facing increased resistance means you’re growing quickly and it’s important we pay attention to the lessons that might be learned with a view to building our confidence.
obstacles are tools for change depending how we view it and they contribute to the various chapters and pages of our lives.
take care and enjoy the rest of the day

A wonderful post! I love the saying “trial by fire” or the idea that diving in head first can be the best way to learn. Growth only comes from encountering new experiences that force us to stretch our ability and knowledge. In other words encountering obstacles. Thanks for sharing!

Great post brother! I have to admit that before I had a paradigm shift in my mentality I was the type of person that would always ask “why me”. One of the biggest obstacles I had faced in my life was not being able to find a professional job after college.

Some may not consider this a great obstacle but the fact of the matter is that, growing up I was always told to go to school and be an excellent student. This would certainly lead me to a great job one day that would pay me a great salary. Coming from a limited financial background, I did everything in my power to get accepted into one of the top research institutions in the country and graduate with a high grade point average. Unfortunately, what people filed to tell me was that no matter how great of student you are if the right market conditions aren’t there, you’re simply going to be jobless.

I would ask “Why me?” if i had done everything right to this point. I would make myself a victim of my circumstances until one day it finally clicked. Being a victim of my obstacles was not going to get me anywhere.

I decided to respond to my obstacles and not react to them. Every time I was faced with another obstacle, I made the commitment to learn a 2 new skills, that way I would be ahead of any impending obstacles.

Obstacles, in my opinion, are a good thing. They keep you moving, they keep you thinking, they keep you on your toes and they keep you overwhelmed. I musch rather would prefer to be overwhelmed than underwhelmed.

    Great post Ryan!

I also agree that increasing resistance = rapid growth. What I find is as you get more successful the greater resistance you get and then the more you grow – HOW EXCITING!

Thank you so much for your insights Ryan!

    Thanks Ryan!!

For some reason, when you simply added the word Golden to the Opportunity that an obstacle actually represents it changed everything for me – well at least it had the impact you were hoping to achieve. Thanks!

This I think is because I have always realised that there is opportunity around every corner and I know too well that an obstacle is yet another opportunity, but to think of it as Golden puts more emphasis on it and makes me realise that if I have overcome this obstacle then damn straight I should turn it into a GOLDEN opportunity.

    Works for me….
